Pashto is the language of the Pashtun people of Afghanistan and northwest Pakistan. It is an Eastern Iranian language, belonging to the Indo-European family.
Pashto is one of the two official languages of Afghanistan, and is also the second-largest regional language of Pakistan, mainly spoken in the north-east and west of the country. The language has over 60 million speakers.
